Job Title: Telematics - Project Lead


Job Summary

The Telematics SME in the PMO role will be responsible for providing domain expertise, technical guidance, and strategic support for telematics-based projects.

This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle telematics, IoT, connectivity solutions, and fleet management while ensuring seamless project execution, governance, and adherence to program objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide subject matter expertise in telematics technologies, including GPS tracking, fleet management, IoT sensors, and cloud connectivity.
  2. Define best practices and industry standards for telematics implementation.
  3. Support the PMO in developing strategic roadmaps for telematics initiatives.
  4. Assist project managers in tracking telematics implementation milestones and risk mitigation strategies.
  5. Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies for telematics projects.
  6. Establish quality assurance metrics and validation processes for telematics solutions.
  7. Conduct performance analysis and optimize telematics data processing.
  8. Act as the primary liaison between technical teams, business units, and external vendors.
  9. Provide leadership with dashboards and KPIs on telematics project performance.
  10. Communicate project updates, risks, and dependencies to senior management and stakeholders.
  11. Research emerging trends in telematics and propose innovative solutions for business efficiency.
  12. Recommend enhancements for predictive analytics, AI/ML applications, and automation in telematics.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. 7+ years of experience in telematics, IoT, or connected vehicle technologies.
  3. Strong understanding of GPS tracking, fleet management systems, and cloud-based telematics platforms.
  4. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management best practices.
  5. Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (AIS-140, GDPR, ISO 26262, etc.).
  6. Hands-on experience with telematics APIs, IoT architecture, and real-time analytics.
  7. Proficiency in data analytics, telematics protocols (CAN, OBD-II, MQTT), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
  8. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
